Iconic Landscapes and Dog Adventures: Scottish Road Trip

1. From the Netherlands to England We set off by car from the Netherlands, accompanied, of course, by our two corgis, Togo and Buffy. Our route took us through the Channel Tunnel. We passed through Birmingham, Edinburgh, the Isle of Skye, and Inverness before visiting the Isle of Man. The final stop of our two-week road trip was Newcastle, where we caught an overnight ferry back to the Netherlands. What you will definitely need to enter the United Kingdom: Valid passport (an ID card is no longer sufficient). ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation): An electronic travel permit that must be applied for online or via the UK ETA app prior to travel. Car insurance. As for the dogs, they require: EU Pet Passport. Microchip. Rabies vaccination administered at least 21 days prior to travel. Tapeworm treatment: Must be administered and stamped by a veterinarian between 24 and 120 hours before entry. Pay strict attention to ensuring the stamp and exact timestamp are entered on the designated p...

Why Is It Worth Visiting Bremen with Dogs?

During the Women's Day weekend, we visited a truly special place: one of Germany’s most charming cities, Bremen, of course with our dogs. We’ve wanted to visit for a long time, and since we love dog-friendly cities, Bremen was the perfect destination for us. 🐾🌷 Bremen, the Fairy-Tale City Many people might recognize Bremen’s name from the famous story of the Bremen Town Musicians. We couldn’t miss the iconic statue of the donkey, dog, cat, and rooster, which is one of the city’s most famous sights. According to legend, touching the donkey’s front legs brings good luck — of course, we tried it too! The city center is simply stunning: historic buildings, cozy streets, and beautiful parks make it truly special. On Marktplatz (the main square), you’ll find the beautiful Town Hall and the famous Roland statue, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. The architecture and the atmosphere of the square are truly magical, as if you’ve traveled back in time. Dog-Friendly Experiences in Bremen Wh...

Christmas in Grindelwald: Snow, Mountains, and Holiday Magic

This year, we wanted a truly special Christmas experience, so we chose a snowy mountain location as our destination. We decided on Grindelwald, a tiny, enchanting town in Switzerland. Even at Christmas, it was full of life: the fairy-tale surroundings attracted many tourists and skiers. We brought along our beloved four-legged companions and were delighted to find that most restaurants were dog-friendly. Many places allowed outdoor seating even in winter, so our dogs could enjoy the festive atmosphere with us. Our accommodation was a charming, peaceful small hotel on the hillside, just a ten-minute walk from the town. During evening walks, the starry sky and snow-covered landscape never failed to impress us. We traveled from the Netherlands by car, making a detour to Strasbourg en route, where we visited one of Europe's most unique Christmas markets. This detour added even more holiday spirit to our trip. In Switzerland, it’s important to always have snow chains in the car during ...

Dog friendly place in Amsterdam

The good weather is here, summer has finally arrived! But where should we go with our dogs if we want to head into the city? Here is a dog-friendly place we visited today with our two little furry friends. If you're in Amsterdam and looking for a dog-friendly restaurant, don't miss Woof & Me . Located not far from the city center, it is easily accessible by foot and tram. This place not only offers delicious meals, sandwiches, drinks, and coffee for people but also has a special menu for our four-legged friends, including chicken liver treats, whipped cream, and biscuits. Dogs can roam freely in the restaurant, as it is safely enclosed, so the pups are always in sight and can't run away. The friendly and pleasant environment of the restaurant is the perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment, where dogs can socialize and play with other dogs. Of course, you can also visit without a dog if you just want to be around them for a while. The staff is attentive and animal-fri...

By Car with Dogs to Norway

Northern Lights, Fjords, Snowy Mountains Preparations Norway was one of the countries on our bucket list. We wanted to bring our dogs along, so we started planning the trip much earlier than usual. We aimed to leave in early February, so we began planning and booking accommodations already in January. Things to consider during planning: The total time for the trip Places we wanted to visit Distances between locations and travel times Road conditions and possible closures Perhaps these are the most important factors. We started planning with Google Maps, marking the places we wanted to visit. We checked how long it would take to get to each location and included potential rest stops and breaks. We planned for an average of 6 hours of driving per day. Based on this, we selected our accommodations. The final preparations before departure involved reviewing our and the dogs’ documents. Each country has different requirements for bringing your dog (passport, deworming within 24 hours p...

How did we get a corgi?

The dog who we know from the social media with short legs, breadbutt, who sleeps in strange poses.   How did we get a corgi?  The Corgi has little body, he is friendly and can be taught easily. They were used to guarding and herding cattle and sheep. We saw them first in Cowboy Bebop, a japanese anime about 5 years ago. It was love at first sight. We decided, we would like a corgi too. We moved abroad to a house with a garden, we think it will be good for a dog.   We searched for the first breeder in march of 2020. We wrote e-mails to or called every breeder that looked good in the country close by. These were about 20 Corgi Kennels. We got answers from 3-4 kennels. We would have had to wait with for a puppy or notify them of our need for a puppy in the spring of next year. Not to mention, that most of kennel chose wether you are suitabe for owning a dog after the personal meeting.   We started to plan a visit in June back home to Hungary in August, w...
